Jackson Family Adoption
We have felt from the beginning of marriage that adoption would one day be a part of our family dynamic.
In May of 2012 after 7 years of marriage and having two boys ages 2 and 4 we felt called to pursue adopting a child from Ethiopia. Soon after joining the Ethiopia program, the process of adoption in Ethiopia began to slow down significantly. We continued to wait for four years, adding a daughter to our family in the meantime, but felt that the Lord was moving our hearts in a different direction.
In May of 2016 we made the switch to adopt from China. It took about four months to update our paperwork and in September we submitted our dossier to China. On June 8 of 2017 we received a referral of a sweet one- year old little boy. While this process has been far longer than we had planned for, we have completely trusted that the Lord’s timing was best and are thrilled to bring Everett home by the end of summer!
As many people know international adoption is expensive, anywhere from $30,000-$40,000 and while time has been on our side as we have waited and saved our money these last five years, we are still in need of about $7000 by August 11, to go towards our travel expenses for China.
For those who read this and are unable to support us financially, would you please pray for us as we embark on this new adventure of adoption, and pray for Everett as he leaves the comfort of life as he knows it. That he would experience a peace that only our Jesus can provide. Thank you so much for all of the support, love, and excitement we have received.
