Adoption has always been a deep desire of our hearts, and we’ve been waiting for God to show us the exact time to move forward in His beautiful story of creating our family. The Lord has blessed us with overflowing love, and we cannot wait to pour His love into the life of another child. God has given us (abundant) life and adopted us into His family through His Son, Jesus Christ, and we believe adopting children is a beautiful display of the Gospel lived out here on earth that points us to our Heavenly Father.
Adoption can cost up to and over $30,000.00, so we have made a fundraising profile for those family and friends who feel called to help support this dream to bring our baby home without such overwhelming financial burdens. There’s something really special about being a part of helping families form together.

We have completed our Smith Family Adoption Profile Book!
This is SUPER important as we apply to agencies and send books to expectant mothers to review for one of them to choose us as the forever family for her baby.
We are waiting for our updated home study to be completed by our social worker, so we can start applying to agencies with an uploaded home-study, pdf version of our profile book, and mailed hard copies of our profile book. Once those applications and books are submitted, we are in the waiting period as we continue to raise funds.
Once we agree to a “situation” that comes our way through multi agencies, our book is previewed, and we wait to see if we are chosen. If we are chosen, the money has to be in place to start the actual and specific adoption!

We are excited that we are making progress in the adoption process.
We are finishing up our Lather of Eden soap fundraiser this month, and we so appreciate all those who have purchased those quality products. We finished creating our profile book that will be presented to birth mamas/families and are in the process of getting those printed, completing an interest free loan application, waiting on our updated home study to be completed by our social worker, and will very soon start applying to agencies! WOW!
God is really bringing us encouragement through this movement and the monetary gifts our loved ones are providing. Thank you for following our adoption journey.
We have been active in the continued early stages of fundraising.
This past fall, McKayleigh & Selah enjoyed baking homemade granola made with love and sold many jars to family and friends!
This past month, we made sugar love scrubs (citrus fresh, stress away, peppermint lavender, peppermint vanilla, vanilla, lavender rose & lavender) and aromatherapy floral bath teas (rose, hibiscus, chamomile, & lavender) with the finest of quality ingredients that leave skin feeling exfoliated, refreshed, super soft, and smelling heavenly. We are looking forward to sharing our next fundraising adventure very soon!

Lastly for an EXCITING update, we have joined the Christian Adoption Consultants community! This is a *significant* step for us as we make progress moving closer to welcoming a precious new child into our family. The CAC group will help us connect with agencies and attorneys that are relevant to our needs in our search as well as provide support in many ways along the journey.

We started the adoption process by sending our application to our social service agency January 2021. Due to looking for a home and moving, we weren’t able to start the home-study process until October 2022 when we finished all three visits in 3 back to back days! Since then we’ve had to have doctor appts (wellness documentation,) FBI background checks in two states, complete and send lots of paperwork verifying every fact about us 😉….pretty much! The 17 page document was finalized today and we are officially approved to adopt! Praise God! This brings me to tears that we have finished this milestone but know that the journey is long ahead to receive the child that God has for us to love and nurture. Truthfully the next step of faith + action is in fundraising. To work with a consulting agency, it’s many thousands of dollars up front. This is a huge reason why so many people do not adopt because of the astronomical costs associated with proving homes for children. It feels very humbling to request that our loved ones help support us in this way BUT it also is very exciting to see how God works and who He works through in practically caring for orphans. We need to raise the funds to make the next step to join an agency to start the quest of finding our child! Will you prayerfully support and join us in this mission?
