We have BIG news! We are adopting a child!
We are beyond excited and are doing everything we can to be prepared to welcome a beautiful new life into our home. As part of our adoption process, we have started a crowdfunding campaign. It may surprise you to hear that adoption related costs can easily total up to $50,000 or more. This is why we have set a goal of $30,000 to help ease the financial burden that often overwhelms adoptive parents, but we will be eternally grateful for any help that our community wants to provide. Because we know that God has called us to this, we trust that He will provide for us somehow. This is a long, stressful, and scary process, but we are stepping out in faith and believing that God will provide in miraculous ways. Thank you so much for helping us to build our family through Adoption! We hope that by inviting you into this process, you will see yourself as part of the community we hope to build around our child as he/she grows up.
Thank you all for your support now and throughout our marriage. Whether it be spiritual, emotional, or financial support, every little bit is greatly appreciated. We are so thankful to be surrounded with loving, supportive friends and family. Please keep us in your prayers as we continue this journey. Please also pray for our baby and his/her development and health; for the birthparents as they go through this difficult time of loss and discernment to create an adoption plan for their child; and for wisdom and guidance for all adoption workers, especially those helping us and the birthparents. Lord, we come before You to lift up the needs of our child, as he/she is developing in his/her birth mother's womb. Hear our prayers for his/her growth, development, and well-being. If he/she is going to be born soon, we pray for a safe, easy delivery into the world and that he/she will arrive healthy and without complications. We pray for his/her birth mom - for your blessing to be upon her for this unselfish gift. Heal her body as well as any grief she may experience as she creates an adoption plan and selects a forever family for her baby. Guide our decisions, guard our hearts, and help us to continually trust your plan and your timing as we wait expectantly. Amen.
