The Jarrett's are becoming a party of three!

We are super stoked about the adventure we feel the Lord is calling us to pursue as it relates to growing our family, but we are also super nervous (!) and would love for you, our dear friends & family, to join us in bringing Baby Jarrett home!

Adoption is such a beautiful picture of the gospel, and we can't wait for that to be the underlying theme of our family. Ephesians 1 says that God "predestined us for adoption to himself as sons through Jesus Christ, according to the purpose of his will, to the praise of his glorious grace" and that "in Him we have obtained an inheritance". Galatians 4 says "when we were children, we were enslaved to the sin of the world. But when the fullness of time had come, God sent forth his Son… so that we might receive adoption as sons. And because you are sons, God has sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, crying, 'Abba! Father!' So you are no longer a slave, but a son, and if a son, then an heir through God." The central theme of the gospel is that we were headed for a hopeless fate, but God intervened and gave us his family crest, so that we may spend life & eternity as sons & daughters of the king.

Adoption was God's "Plan A" as it is ours.

We have two beyond-wonderful families and a humbling amount of faithful friends. What a gift. We know that God has given us such an incredible community because we'll need it. BIG TIME. (Help!)

Despite our best efforts, amidst teaching our little dude/gal about adoption — highlighting the fact that he/she was always wanted, that he/she is supremely loved — we know there will inevitably be doubt & longing that our words won't be able to satisfy. We would love to point beyond ourselves to a list of names of the people who also stepped up to the plate alongside us — who claimed this child as "ours" and as "wanted". That is wasn't just mom & dad who have to say they love me… but that all of those people fought for me and love me too.

We hope that by being a part of this process, you will see yourself as part of the community we hope to build around our child as he/she grows up.

Thank you for your prayers + your friendship + your support, now & always.

All our love,

JJ + Lo
