We are adopting a child!
We are beyond excited and are doing everything we can to be prepared to welcome a beautiful new life into our home. We have been hosting from the Ukraine for the holidays and past summer. After a lot of talking, praying, and creating a plan as a family, we decided we would like to give this precious child a good home where he can grow and be given a chance at a real life. In the Ukraine the orphanages are very different from what you would expect. Many of them do not have heat or hot water. It’s extremely sad what conditions these children are exposed to. At age 16, they age out of the system and are put on the street. With no means for survival, most do not make it.
As part of our adoption process, we have started a crowdfunding campaign. It may surprise you to hear that adoption related costs can easily total up to $45,000 or more. This is why we have set a goal of $25,000 to help ease the financial burden that often overwhelms adoptive parents. Any little bit can help us get there. It’s also tax deductible and through a non profit.
We hope that by inviting you into this process, you will see yourself as part of the community we hope to build around our child as he grows up.
