The idea of adopting was one that God began growing in both of our hearts many years ago…long before Jeremiah and I ever met. We both knew with certainty that it was something we, as individuals, were called to do. How beautiful it was when we discovered our mutual heart for the orphan and adoption as God began to bind our hearts together. If you ask Jeremiah, he will tell you that the day he fell in love with me was a day very early in our relationship that we talked about adoption. We talked about God's heart for the orphaned, abandoned and forgotten. We talked about how He promises to set the lonely in families (Psalm 68:6) and tells us to defend the cause of the fatherless (Isaiah 1:17). We also talked about how adoption is the perfect reflection of the Gospel: we are children who were lost and without hope until a loving Father actively sought us and found us and welcomed us into His forever family with open arms! Because of this, we find it impossible to discuss what our future family might look like without talking about adoption. Knowing and believing with our whole hearts that God has called us to this purpose, we are signing up for this crazy journey. Through much prayer, discussion and research we have come to the conclusion that God is calling us to bring our child home from Ethiopia. Always feel free to contact us direct at [email protected]
