is adopting a child from Ethiopia

In 2013, God re-kindled a decades-old desire in Heather's heart to adopt from Africa. After prayerful consideration we decided to adopt from Ethiopia. In 2014, we brought home an 11-month old boy with a cleft lip and palate who had been abandoned as a 3-week old. He now has a forever home, and three siblings and dozens of aunts, uncles, grand-parents and cousins who absolutely love him. While at our son's orphanage in Ethiopia, we saw many older children who were also orphans. These were children who had no family of their own, but were excited beyond measure that our little boy was going home with a family. We knew then that we would probably be back in Ethiopia. In December, we felt God's prompting to start the process to adopt again. We were given information on a 13-year old girl whose mother died when she was an infant. She's been in an orphanage for years, and has never known a loving family. We decided to move forward to adopt her. In recent weeks, she has been told that she has a family - that she's been chosen. We've sent her pictures and letters, and seen video of her receiving them. We've heard the joy in her voice in videos sent by people who've gone to visit her for us, and our hearts are full. We can't wait to bring her home!
