Once again we are asking you, our friends and family, to partner with us on another adoption journey.
For those who are new to our story, adoption has always been a "plan A" for us and was close to our hearts from the start of our marriage. We first started this journey to grow our family when we adopted our son in 2011, followed by the birth of our daughter just a couple of months later, then the adoption of our daughter in 2015, and the births of our two youngest most recently. After years of adoption paperwork, pregnancy, and even being foster parents for 7 years to some amazing kids who went on to their families- we thought we were done growing our family. BUT. Through Erika's job we learned of a little boy with complex medical needs who desperately needed both a family and medical treatment for his life threatening medical needs. After months of advocating for this sweet boy, there were no families comfortable moving forward with his adoption and we were watching him deteriorate in every message and picture update we received. We knew at this point that we had to act. We already loved him and wanted him to have a full, healed, and happy life- but making this adoption happen logistically and financially seemed like a daunting task. Not only will there be adoption expenses and travel to and from his birth country, but once he is home there will be a long road of surgeries and recovery and hospital stays. We approached this big decision with loads of prayer and finally decided to start the process to adopt him with the mindset that if this is what the Lord has for us and this sweet boy, then God would make a way.
Now, we are humbly asking for you to come along side us in this walk and help us welcome a new son into our family. Adoption costs are typically difficult to manage, but with the major medical needs of this child, the adoption process is being expedited and we are moving along much faster than we anticipated. We have already completed the home study and Dossier and we are just waiting on the adoption process in his birth country to be completed. Due to the need for a faster timeline, we do not have the time to fundraise and work to save up funds the way that we have with our past adoptions. We know that any gift given towards this adoption is often a sacrifice and we are so appreciative and thankful for any help we are given.
