Grant and Sarah De Jong

are adopting a child from United States of America

We are humbled that you have been led to visit our adoption fundraising page!

We are excited to be on this adoption journey to add a precious child born with DOWN SYNDROME to our family!

God has been gracious to bless our marriage with 5 children. He really tested our faith when our oldest daughter, Cheyenne, was born and surprised us by having down syndrome. She was the best, unexpected blessing we could have ever received! We knew nothing about Down syndrome when she was born, but through the years, Down syndrome has become the joy and passion of our hearts and lives, and it has truly shaped us into the family we are today!

God very strongly placed adoption in our hearts at the beginning of 2019. Even when we didn't know the details, we knew that without a doubt He was calling us to Down syndrome adoption.

Through months of research and earnest prayer, we were blessed with peace as we were led to our agency to pursue domestic Down syndrome adoption.

Unborn babies diagnosed with Down syndrome have a very high risk of abortion (67% in the US), and we knew God was calling us to courageously be a louder voice for these unborn babies. We very strongly stand behind Psalm 139:14 which boldly says,

"I will praise You, for I am fearfully and _ wonderfully _ made; Marvelous are Your works, And that my soul knows very well."

We know God has created each child perfectly, no matter how many chromosomes they have. Each child was created on purpose, and for a purpose and we are honored to be called to parent another precious child with Down syndrome

We are beyond excited and are doing everything we can to be prepared to welcome a beautiful new life into our home. As part of our adoption process, we have started a crowdfunding campaign. It may surprise you to hear that adoption related costs can easily total up to $20,000 or more. This is why we have set a goal of $5,000 to help ease the financial burden that often overwhelms adoptive parents.

We hope that by inviting you into this process, you will see yourself as part of the community we hope to build around our child as he/she grows up.

We humbly ask you to donate to our adoption as you feel led by the Holy Spirit. If you are unable to provide financially, we would love your commitment to pray for our family and the baby that God has perfectly chosen to join our family. We are grateful for any financial or spiritual support!

UPDATE We were matched with a precious GIRL in December 2021!! We are home now, and awaiting for her to receive open heart surgery to repair her heart defect. She has a complete AV canal and will need that repaired before she turns 6 months. Grant and Sarah and their baby will need to travel out of state for the surgery and plan to be separated as a family for 2-3 weeks.
