We have BIG NEWS….
WE’RE ADOPTING!!
We are so excited to be on this adoption journey to bring the right baby into our home!
As part of our adoption process, we have started both practical preparation as well as financial. We have started this crowdfunding campaign as part of our financial planning.
It may surprise you to hear that adoption related costs can easily total up to $40,000 or more. This is why we have set a goal of $20,000 to help ease the financial burden that often overwhelms adoptive parents.
Since we have all of our paperwork completed we could be matched at any moment which is EXCITING, but also a bit nerve wrecking to know we could get a call at any moment.
We would be so honored if you partnered with us to help our dream of becoming parents come true by giving to our campaign.
Wow; it’s been a wild 6 months. Two short months after our disruption, we received a call that changed our lives together. . We received the initial information late April 26 in the evening. that a birth mom had given birth to a little girl that was born just the day before and had chosen to place her adoption and was looking for a family. We had our consultants submit our information and waited. We heard only 13 short hours later that her birth mom had chosen us. We were shocked and so so thankful. We left to pick her up that Sunday as we were experiencing severe weather that Saturday. On April 28 at 8 pm we finally met our daughter for the first time! It was the sweetest most surreal moment! We stayed in her homes state for a week and headed back to Oklahoma. It’s been 4 months since she was born today and we love her more than words can say!
As most of you have read, we were matched with a birth mom with twins due in April. The babies were born at 32 weeks and it was at that time that we learned the parents had chosen to parent.
While this is really heartbreaking for us as we had everything planned and ready for the babies, we know that it’s the Lords will.
Adoption disruptions are not uncommon during the adoption journey, but they are often not talked about.
So what’s next?
Well, we’re still active and live on our agency’s website and are praying the Lord brings the right birth family to choose us at the right time.
If you would keep us in your prayers over the next few weeks, we’d appreciate it.
Just a month ago we shared that we were adopting. Well we have even bigger news today, we have officially been matched with an expectant mom and the babies are due in April. As you can expect we are very excited and nervous. Also, you might be thinking you read a typo for babies and you DID NOT. The mother is having twins and has chosen us to parent her babies.
While excitement and nerves run through us, we are continuing to practically and financially prepare. We would love for you to consider donating to our adoption fund. As we mentioned earlier adoptions can cost up to 40,000 and we are trying to raise 20,000 to help put towards al of the cost.
