There is an orphan crisis…over 153 million worldwide. Can we even make a difference? Just like the story of the starfish says…we CAN make a difference for ONE! Shao Mei was abandoned when she was just a few days old. Born with a very complex heart defect, she joined Morning Star Foster Home in the spring of 2014, and had emergency open heart surgery the summer after arriving. Her life is truly a miracle! Although the surgery she had saved her life, she needs more surgery. She needs extensive medical care..and she needs it quickly. But what she really needs is a FAMILY! She needs a family to take care of her and love her and stand beside her! We are that family. She is our daughter. Her name is Journey Mei.
