🚨 Big News from the Nickel Crew… We’re officially waiting for our daughter! ❤️

After more than 20 years of Army service, countless moves, and enough deployments to make our calendars cry, we’re finally in the waiting stage of our adoption journey!

Here’s something many people don’t know: during the years we hoped to grow our family, one of us was almost always deployed, training, or halfway around the world. Quite literally, military service closed the window for us to have another child the traditional way.

But maybe that wasn’t the end of our story—it was the beginning of someone else’s.

Instead of asking, “Why didn’t we have another baby?” God slowly changed our hearts to ask, “What child is waiting for a family like ours?”

Today, we’re hoping to welcome a little girl, ages 3–9, into our loud, adventure-filled family. While many children that age wait far longer for a forever home, we believe every child deserves to be someone’s first choice.

Will there be challenges? Absolutely. Healing takes time, patience, and unconditional love. But after raising three amazing boys, completing our adoption training and home study, and spending years learning and preparing, we’re ready to love a child exactly where she is.

We can’t wait for beach days in Hawaiʻi, bedtime stories, holiday traditions, sibling shenanigans, and one more chair around the dinner table.
