Ephesians 3:20

The Lord gave us this scripture to hide in our hearts when He first began to whisper to us the beautiful words that He was going to expand our family once again through adoption. He instructed us to begin preparing our hearts, our little Emma and our world because at some point, sooner or later, it was within His plan that we would become…..

Kelly, Party of 4!

And so we began! And to be honest, because God has placed such a strong desire to minister to our child’s birth mom, we naturally assumed God would take us the same direction He took us with Emma’s adoption journey which was getting to meet and grow in a relationship with Emma’s birth mom before her birth. But it seems that each step we’ve taken, The Lord seems to have a little different twist that has led to an entirely different set of circumstances surrounding this adoption process.

(We’ll spare you the details now, but we may go back and fill them in as time and space allows. 😊)

For now though let’s get to the REALLY BEAUTIFUL NEWS!

IN ALL OF THE TWISTS AND TURNS OF THIS DIFFERENT DIRECTION

GOD HAS BEEN TAKING US,

HE ALREADY HAD A PLAN FOR A MATCH!

WE HAVE BEEN CHOSEN BY PRECIOUS “BIRTHMOMMA D”!

We are having a baby BOY in October!

Needless to say our calm season of preparing our hearts because of God’s gentle whispers has turned into a “holy moly, we’ve got to get ready!” season of preparing because… he will be here SOON!!!!

And we couldn’t be any more excited and grateful!!!

We are holding on to the scripture Ephesians 3:20 more tightly now than ever!

We can see clearly now that God knew way before we did that we would need this verse to cling to and that we would need to seek Him and trust Him to be able to move mountains to bring this little one to us.

Truthfully, this situation scared us. There are so many unknowns and possible medical issues that pushes us way outside of our financial comfort zone. Yet, we still felt so strongly that this was our ‘yes’, that no matter what, our lives were supposed to come together, so all we could do was grip tightly to Ephesians 3:20 and say “YES” to God’s “YES”!

A few of the mountains God is moving for this little one:

  • The mere fact that Momma D has chosen LIFE for him when the world tells her that the easy choice is abortion and she has chosen abortion in her past.

  • The fact that Momma D not only chose life, she chose to work towards an adoption placement plan for him which is huge since she and his birth father are homeless.

  • The fact that Momma D has chosen late in her pregnancy to get prenatal care

  • There have been drugs involved so we don’t know and won’t know how this may effect this little one at/after birth.

  • The fact that Momma D has given birth to 3 other children (none that she has custody of), all that she has delivered several weeks early so between drug use and premature delivery history there is all likelihood she will have premature delivery.

  • The fact that Momma D did not want ANY communication with the adoptive parents. She did not want to have an ultrasound. 2 weeks ago, God moved in her heart and she had an ultrasound and then she chose to have a phone conversation with us. When we ended the conversation, she said we would talk again soon. That is God at work! We have been able to write her 2 letters and have the 1 phone conversation. It’s our prayer to be able to share Christ’s love with her through this time. We believe God is opening doors for us to do that!

When we first read Momma D’s profile, we knew that God was calling us to this…and we also had a strong sense that He had gone before us. Because of the extenuating circumstances with travel expenses, medical expenses, adoption fees, etc., we know we are preparing for something that is far beyond what we were prepared to step out to do by ourselves. Through prayer, The Lord kept taking us back to Ephesians 3:20 and reminding us how He had given us that verse to cling to and asking us if we really believe it.

And we do!

So with that……We’re asking you, our family and friends,

  1. To commit to join with us in praying for Momma D and this precious little one she is carrying.

  2. To commit to pray for our family as we walk through this journey.

  3. Tax Deductible Donation!

To see if God would have you join with us through giving financially. You can give a tax deductible 501c3 donation through this page. The funds that are raised will be held in trusts until we turn in receipts to use the funds. The funds can be used to help pay travel expenses, hotel expenses, meals, adoption expenses, medical expenses, etc. as we walk through this journey in the next couple of months. We will keep you updated every step of the way on this page throughout our journey.

And so….this is exactly where HE has brought us to. We are trusting in HIM completely that HE will do immeasurably great things. Thank you for walking with us and thank you for your love and support to our family!
