Hey guys!
We are so very excited to share with you that after 4 long years of infertility, we have decided to begin the private adoption process. We will bring home an infant born in the state of Texas who is anywhere between 2 days old and 3 months old. We have selected an agency here in our city that is going to help us through this wonderful and life changing journey.
We want to share with you a bit about our story to this point and what has led us here. A few years ago after about a year of trying to start our family we felt that God was asking us to become foster parents. We were nervous, but we decided to say "yes" to what He had called us to do. We fostered 2 children for 9 months and loved the opportunity to be parents. We were heart broken when our children reunited with their family, but are so thankful to still be in contact with them and get to be a part of their lives.
Through all of our years of infertility we never lost sight of the longing inside of us to adopt. We continued to pray and ask God to let us know when it was time to move forward. About 2 months ago we both felt that God made it so clear that it was time for us to begin the process of bringing our miracle baby home through adoption. Adoption has never been our back-up plan or a last resort. It was something we wanted to do before we were even married, and fostering our children made that desire a passion.
We are confident that our precious baby is out there and so close to coming home and making our dream to be parents come true. However, as many of you know private adoption is incredibly expensive (an average of $35,000 in the USA). We are working on several fundraisers and are going to be applying for a few grants to help us with the funding. We are asking God to provide for us and not let the cost of adoption stand in our way. All money raised on this site will go directly to the agency and used for our adoption. All donations are tax deductible as well!
At this point we are one visit away from being "home-study approved." We have also cleared all of the background checks and received FBI clearance. We just need the funding to take the next step and become "parents in waiting" which is the matching stage of the adoption journey!
