Hello and welcome! We are excited to share that we are in the adoption process! We have completed our home study and are approved to adopt domestically. Now we are waiting with great anticipation to be placed with a baby. Foster care and/or adoption has been something Wes and I have talked about since we got married. After a season of secondary infertility and through much prayer and discussion we decided together that God has been positioning us to pursue adoption. At the beginning of September we jumped in feet first! While Nora is just beginning to understand the concept of adoption, she is thrilled to become a big sister, and we are eager to teach her more about what it means to adopt.
We have had many ask how they can support us in this journey. First and foremost, we are asking for you to join us in prayer as we wait for the Lord to bring us our second child. Pray for the health of the baby as he or she develops in the birth mother’s womb, pray for the birthparents as they have a very difficult, loving and courageous decision to make, and pray for us as we wait with open arms to be chosen by birthparents and to welcome a baby into our family.
Adoption is an expensive journey. Each case varies in price depending on the birth mother’s needs, agency fees, lawyer fees, travel expenses, etc. However, on average, domestic adoptions typically cost between $35,000-$50,000. We have personally been making financial sacrifices towards adoption and will continue to do so. We also want to open up a platform for anyone who may want to simply make a tax-deductible financial contribution. All the money that we are able to raise will go directly towards our adoption fees. We trust that the Lord is going to provide the necessary measures to accomplish his will in this adoption journey.
