Hi friends and family,
I am thrilled to announce that I am adopting a child! The main thing I have been sure of in my life is that I want to be a mom. This desire has culminated in the decision to adopt.
I have always known I wanted to adopt, since I was a kid myself. Growing up, I was close with a family that had a blended bunch of kids, some biological and some adopted. They were a wonderful example of how adoption could be a huge blessing to both the parents and the kids. I have known since then that I wanted to adopt someday. And finally, now is the time!
I am beyond excited and am doing everything I can to be prepared to welcome a beautiful new life into my home. I'm working extra, saving vacation time, selling items to fundraise and declutter my home, and saving, saving, saving. I have picked a local agency here in SoCal to help with my adoption.
As another part of my adoption process, I have started a crowdfunding campaign. It may surprise you to hear that adoption related costs can easily total up to $35,000 or more. This is why I have set a goal of $25,000 to help ease the financial burden that often overwhelms adoptive parents.
I hope that by inviting you into this process, you will see yourself as part of the community I hope to build around my child as he/she grows up. I’m so incredibly grateful to have a community of friends, family, and supporters who will be the village to help this child!
