is adopting a child from United States of America

We have BIG news!

We are adopting a baby!

We have been talking about adopting since before we got married, over 8 years ago, but we figured we would have biological children first, and then add to our family. Obviously, the old-fashioned way didn’t work for us. But the cost of a domestic infant adoption is so overwhelming that we never got past the huge number of dollar signs in all of the information packets.

Last year, we were told of a little girl in foster care who needed a home. We felt like God was leading us to that so we jumped in and began the mountain of paperwork and hours of classes. That little girl was placed with a different family, but since we felt we were meant to be in that situation, we kept going. Four foster care specialists, a Special Needs Adoption Program recommendation, and about 15 months later, we got the call about a newborn who needed a pre-adoptive home, and we had about 15 minutes to decide. Even though we never dreamed we’d end up with a baby through foster care, we were thrilled and our E came home to us 4 days later. Unfortunately, due to a misunderstanding somewhere in the system somewhere throughout the process, she was removed from our home in August of 2017.

So we began the adoption conversation yet again. And because our family, friends, and church family are so loving and generous, we’ve had enough encouragement to believe that we should take that leap and begin the domestic infant adoption process.

We are beyond excited and are doing everything we can to be prepared to welcome a beautiful new life into our home. As part of our adoption process, we have started a crowdfunding campaign. It may surprise you to hear that adoption related costs can easily total up to $35,000 or more - sometimes $50,000+. This is why we have set a goal of $25,000 to help ease the financial burden of agency and attorney fees that often overwhelms adoptive parents.

We hope that by inviting you into this process, you will see yourself as part of the community we hope to build around our child as she grows up. Thank you so much for your love, prayers, and generosity!

By donating to our fundraiser through AdoptTogether, you are assisting us with our adoption agency fees and attorney fees. Donations through this site are tax deductible for your convenience.

**Our foster daughter’s name used online anywhere is NOT her real, given, legal name. It is a name that we called her to protect her privacy. Due to legalities, I will be removing the nickname from public posts as well.**
