We are adopting from China!
A little over a year ago, that big question came up…are we done having kids? International adoption has come up several times over our years together, and this finally felt like the right time! We launched into prayer during our church's annual new year time of prayer and fasting. The theme was "More." Funny, right?!?
Here's a quick look at our 2017 journey:
We are beyond excited to welcome a beautiful 5-year old boy into our home. God has blown us away with His grace and kindness through this little guy. He has been so well-cared for and he is ready for his forever family.
As part of our adoption process, we have started a crowdfunding campaign. It is probably surprising to hear that adoption related costs can easily total up to $35,000 or more (and that's just to bring someone home!). God has blessed us with provision to cover nearly half the cost already. We are working on grant applications and fundraisers, and have set a goal of $15,000 to help cover the rest of the expenses (total costs outlined below).
We invite you to join our adventure! Now that our dossier is out the door, the next step is to wait, wait, wait for approvals from both the U.S. and China with hopes to travel next summer (2018). In the meantime, we are reading, preparing, and connecting with adoptive families here at home and across the U.S.
If you want to hear more about our story or if you have questions about the adoption process, we would LOVE to meet with you over coffee (or by phone for our long-distance friends). Until then, you can be a part of our journey by praying with us…
If you want to support us by giving, you can give through this tax-deductible site. All funds will be sent directly to our agency and applied toward our adoption expenses. We're preparing a few fundraisers for additional ways to give - those will launch in January.
We are thanking God for His provision, His perfect timing, and His peace as we transition to a family of 5. And we're so thankful for YOU, our amazing community of friends and family.
