is adopting a child from Colombia

We have BIG news!

We are adopting a child!

We are beyond excited and are doing everything we can to be prepared to welcome a beautiful new life into our home. As part of our adoption process, we have started a crowdfunding campaign. It may surprise you to hear that adoption related costs can easily total up to $38,000 or more. This is why we have set a goal of $35,000 to help ease the financial burden that often overwhelms adoptive parents.

We hope that by inviting you into this process, you will see yourself as part of the community we hope to bring to our SON!

OUR STORY:

In Febuary of 2020 God put the need to do something for orphans on my heart. I was unsure of what exactly that meant. I thought for a second that maybe God was not looking into our own home and seeing that we were busy with at the time our own 4 children who were 9, 5, 3, &16 months, but then I remembered that God is "the God who sees me" & He is also for the Fatherless, so I asked Him what it was exactly that He wanted our family to do for orphans and through a set of circumstances and divine appointments a friend led me to an orphan hosting organization called Project143.

*Hosting is like an in home mission trip where you have an orphaned child come stay 3-5 weeks for a vacation to enjoy family life and the family either can choose to advocate for their adoption or adopt them themselves.

I looked at the childrens pictures and stopped abruptly on a 14 year old boy who's smile felt familiar. I thought, "Lord, what is going on here?" Its hard to explain, but I felt like I KNEW this child!

After contacting P143 to ask about "C083AND" and hearing Carol the volunteer say, "A_son is a 14 year old boy . . . ". The rest faded away because all I could hear was his name. We have 2 sons, Gibson & Hudson. Our youngest was without a name for 24 hours and when discussing his name I specifically told Gil, my husband, "I don't know. People are going to think we have some weird thing with naming our boys something "son" & besides, if we ever adopt and his name doesn't end in "son" he won't feel like he's ours!" Gil being the voice of reason, again, let me know how ridiculous that was and so, Hudson it was!

So here I was, in my van, looking at this face that felt familiar and smile much like my husband and boys- gorgeous, with a name that came fitting, and thought, "Lord, I'm not for sure what you are doing, but I think A_son needs us."

Then, hosting was cancelled 2 times due to the pandemic and what was supposed to be 4 months until hosting turned 14!

Fast forward, March 27, 2021 our "Spring Break SON" as we called him our Facebook group page boarded a plane to come to us!!!

Everything I had prayed for this precious, 15 year old boy God made clear in those 3 weeks. He loved it here, embraced EVERYONE in our family, and WE LOVE HIM!!!

If you would like to see how those 14 months of prayer unfolded and see our 3 weeks of hosting its well documented on our Facebook group! 😁❤🙏❤

To those of you that have a heart for our family, the Lord, and our SON and would love to give- THANK YOU!!! We appreciate it ALL- PRAYERS, contributions, help with little 4 when travel time comes, meals, whatever!

*If you can't adopt right now, or can and just have a heart for getting as many precious children in their forever home, we thank you for adopting WITH US!!!!

*"I will not leave you as orphans, I will come to you. " John 14:18

"Please, bless my family. Let it continue before you forever. Lord God, you have said these wonderful things. With your blessing let my family be blessed forever.”

2 Samuel 7:29 (A's special verse)
