We are now adopting Avery and Andrew to be permanent parts of our family. Avery is 15 and gets very good grades in school as well as plays three sports. Andrew is 14, holds his own in school with his conditions and enjoys skiing and swimming. The last 2 years have been amazing and trying bringing them into our family and figuring everything out. There have been struggles emotionally, financially and mentally. But we are past the initial hump and in a great place with how everyone is in our family of 6. Now we look forward to finalizing the process.
As part of our adoption process, we have started a crowdfunding campaign. It may surprise you to hear that adoption-related costs can easily total up to $35,000 or more. This is why we have set a goal of $18,000 to help ease the financial burden that often overwhelms adoptive parents. This money goes towards the law firm helping us in this process.
