is adopting a child from United States of America

We’ve recently begun our greatest adventure ever… we’re adopting! We are thrilled to be on this new journey that God has led us to and are so excited to grow our family through adoption. Before we were married, we both knew that we wanted to adopt one day and after many years of fertility struggles (including many medications, doctor’s appointments and surgery), we felt God calling us to start the adoption process sooner than we had originally planned.

We are working with New Life Family Services, a wonderful agency right here in the Twin Cities that works with birth parents and adoptive families. The adoption will be done domestically (likely with a birth family from Minnesota) and we are pursuing an open adoption (meaning that we hope to stay in touch and have an ongoing relationship with the birth mother/family of our child).

We are beyond excited and are doing everything we can to be prepared to welcome a beautiful new life into our home. As part of our adoption process, we have started a crowdfunding campaign. It may surprise you to hear that adoption related costs with our agency will be $18,000 - $20,000. This is why we have set a goal of $10,000 to help ease the financial burden that often overwhelms adoptive parents. If we receive any donations in person, we will update our goal to reflect those donations.

We hope that by inviting you into this process, you will see yourself as part of the community we hope to build around our child as he/she grows up.

“Forget the former things;

do not dwell on the past.

See, I am doing a new thing!

Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?

I am making a way in the wilderness

and streams in the wasteland.

Isaiah 43:18-19

Thank you for all your love and support - it means more than you could know!
