Two years ago, God set us out on a journey to grow our family and have more children. Unfortunately, after many doctors’ appointments, tests, trials, and tears - we discovered things about Robyn’s health that prevent us from doing that. We have decided not to seek any further medical intervention. After much prayer, we would like to include you on our next journey…our journey to adopt!
This past year, God placed the call of adoption on our hearts as a family. To be completely accurate, God placed a burning for adoption on Robyn’s heart when she was a little girl. We now realize that when God places a burden on your heart, the only thing you can do is take action!
We know that everyone is not called to adopt, but as followers of Christ we are all called to care for the orphans. The verse that spoke to us specifically was James 1: 26-27; “If anyone thinks he is religious and does not bridle his tongue but deceives his heart, this person’s religion is worthless. Religion that is pure and undefiled before God, the Father, is this: to visit orphans and widows in the affliction, and to keep oneself unstained from the world.” As Christians we are called to support adoption, because we ourselves are adopted through Christ. So, we have followed God’s lead and will for our lives and have decided to adopt our third child — a son from India.
There are over two million orphans in India alone — and we are determined, with your help, to make that two million MINUS ONE.
We are beyond excited as a family! Our daughters are praying for their little brother in their nightly prayers, and announcing his coming to anyone who will listen. This will be the greatest adventure of “stepping out of the boat” that we have ever had to do (Matthew 14:29). We know that God uses his people for his purposes, and we would be honored to know that you helped us bring our son home and knowing that this boy will have the opportunity of growing up in a safe and loving Christian home. We are humbly on our knees before God, knowing that he will do great things through our faith in him.
Thank you so much for your prayers and your support. No words could ever express our gratitude for your love for our family. We hope that by inviting you into this process, you will see yourself as part of the community we hope to build around our child as he grows up.
