is adopting a child from South Africa

We're Adopting!

We have talked about adopting for over ten years. We always thought that we couldn’t have kids. This meant before we even got married, over ten years ago, we had our hearts set on adoption “when the time was right”. God surprised us in the five years following with our four beautiful children. Through all of this we never lost our heart for adoption.

The surprising journey God has taken us on has grown our heart to view adoption in a new way, not just growing our family one child at a time but through the goodness we have seen, having multiple children close together with our biological children, we feel led and hope to adopt a sibling group.

Our family has been a unique one from the beginning. We have more than the average number of kids, homeschool, and a husband/father who has a forever changing, never set traveling schedule. Over the years we have tried several times to start the process to adopt here, in the States. This involved us having to first become foster parents and all of the classes that entails. It never seemed to work out between Corey having to work, never going to have a normal 9-5 schedule, and taking the classes. Although, Corey’s job has kept us from adopting domestically it has also provided a unique perspective of other countries he has flown to. This has opened our eyes to the possibility that his job opens up more options than just domestic adoption and has led us to go internationally.

With a lot of prayer and research we have been led to adopt internationally. Somewhere there is a high ratio of boys available to adopt (Peyton has prayed for a brother since he was three) and many awaiting sibling groups.

As of Tuesday, November 6, 2017, our application was officially accepted by our agency. We signed contracts and mailed them off that day and have now started our home-study. We are excited to announce this to our family and friends. We ask for your prayers as we go through this process.

It’s going to be a long journey spanning anywhere from 1 ½ to 2 years. We would love to have everyone’s love and support as we work to bring our children home.
