As many of you have heard… I am adopting a child! My parents are excited, but Angie hasn't quite grasped what is in store for her. I am faithfully stepping into my dream to become a mom through the gift of adoption. I have been blessed with a vibrant life. God willing, I believe that it is time to share this life with a child who is in need of a family.
I am beyond excited and feel many of the emotions expectant parents have when considering the responsibility and honor it is to raise a child. I am doing everything I can to be prepared to welcome a beautiful new life into my home. As part of my adoption process, I have started a crowdfunding campaign. It may surprise you to hear that adoption related costs can easily total up to $35,000 or more for domestic adoptions. Along with my own personal savings, I am setting a goal of $20,000 to help ease the financial burden that often overwhelms adoptive parents. Becoming a parent is challenging for everyone. With that in mind, I am anticipating higher costs associated with transportation and extra support I will need to care for the child as a single parent who happens to be blind.
