We are beyond excited and are doing everything we can to be prepared to welcome a beautiful new life into our home. It may surprise you to hear that adoption related costs can easily total up to $35,000 or more. So, we are doing some fundraising and applying for grants to help ease the financial burden that often overwhelms adoptive parents.
We hope that by inviting you into this process, you will see yourself as part of the community we hope to build around our child as he/she grows up.
We are currently in the paperwork/home study update process with Christian Adoption Services out of Fargo.
Our Story:
We are high school sweethearts and were married in 2007! We were so excited to start our family once Ryan was finished with school. We found out that we were infertile about a year after trying to get pregnant. It was heartbreaking! We took some time to grieve and heal from the loss of that dream. Once we decided that we wanted to adopt, we were very excited! We spent almost 2 years in the traditional adoption process and did not bring a baby home.
We had known about embryo adoption and after doing a lot of research and prayer, we decided to give that a try. We went through an organization called National Embryo Donation Center for embryo adoption. Through them, we were matched with a family that donated 5 embryos to us! We used 3 of those with our first attempt and we got pregnant with our oldest son, Levi! Almost 3 years later, we used the last 2 embryos and got pregnant with our other son, Koby! We are so blessed to be mom and dad to these beautiful boys!
Our hearts long for more children and we feel that God has placed a call on our hearts to adopt, this time through the traditional process! We don't know His timing or what it will look like but we are very excited to see God's plan come to fruition through this adoption! May He receive all the glory!
We want to thank you for your support through prayer, financial giving, and encouragement! We are truly grateful!
With much love and gratitude,
Ryan and Steph Laposky
