We are adopting a baby!
Daniel and I are so excited at the chance to become parents. We knew from day one that we wanted to adopt and it wasn't a matter of if but more of a matter of when. In 2011, Daniel and I got married we were still in college so we did put off trying for a few years. Flash forward two years and a cross-country move later we finally decided that we were ready to start our family. With Daniel in the military we tried off and on for the next few years. Unfortunately, up until now God has not blessed us with a child of our own and we are taking that as a sign that this is our time to adopt. Of course, yes we would like a child that is biologically ours, however that isn't what family is truly about. Family is about loving another person with your whole heart and that is what Daniel and I want to do. We want to provide a loving and nurturing home to a child who otherwise would not have it.
Like I stated we are so excited and are doing everything we can to be prepared to welcome a new life into our home. As part of our adoption process, we have started a crowdfunding campaign to help ease some the cost that accompanies adoption. It may surprise you to hear that adoption related costs can easily total up to $35,000 or more.
We hope that by inviting you into this process, you will see yourself as part of the community we hope to build around our child as he/she grows up.
