Hello, thanks for visiting our page! I'd love to tell you a little about our family and the child we are trying to adopt. Doug and I met later in life. Before I met him I was a single mom to my two daughters and a son, adopted from Vietnam as an infant. Doug and I talked about adoption before we were even married. He adopted my son shortly after our marriage and we began to talk about adding to our family by adoption. We are older and felt we didn't necessarily need to adopt an infant. We found our soon-to-be son on an agency's waiting child page. Let me tell you about him! This sweet boy has been waiting so long for a family. He is 7 years old right now and will most likely see his 8th birthday before we are able to travel to bring him home. He is smart, kind and helpful by all accounts. He plays the drums! He is great at math! He sings! He draws pictures with happy scenes like rainbows, people with dogs on leashes, houses, and sunshine. He talks every day about wanting a mom and a dad. He says his life would be perfect if he just had a family. This child needs us and we need him. We submitted our request for pre-approval to China and much to our relief and delight, they said yes! When we first set out to adopt, we expected the process to take at least 18 months. But since he is a waiting child, the process is much quicker which means we now have less time than we first anticipated to come up with the funds to bring him home. We have been cutting expenses and saving like crazy to try to come up with all of the money but will still be short. Any donation you make here is 100% tax deductible.
