Sean Leenhouts
is adopting a child from United States of America
Update (April 22nd, 2020)
After two years of working with a local adoption agency, they made the tough decision last month to close because of the low number of adoptions in our area. We are heartbroken after another set back in our six year journey of infertility and adoption placement.
Moving forward, we believe that a national adoption will be the best chance for us to adopt a child, since there is only one adoption agency in our area accepting new parents. However, it does cost about $10,000-$15,000 more than what we had saved for a local agency.
So, once again we are turning to our friends and family for help with the financial responsibility. If you are able, would you consider donating to help us on our journey to adopt a child?

We have BIG news!
We are adopting a child!
We always knew that we wanted to add children to our family, no matter what form that took. After six years of unsuccessfully trying to get pregnant, we decided that God was moving us in the direction of adoption. We took comfort that God is sovereign over our fertility and that He had a plan to add children, but not through the way we initially thought. The Bible talks about children being a blessing, and we believe that means through whatever means they join our family!
We are beyond excited and are doing everything we can to be prepared to welcome a beautiful new life into our home. As part of our adoption process, we have started a crowdfunding campaign. It may surprise you to hear that adoption-related costs can easily total up to $40,000 or more. This is why we have set a goal of $20,000 to help ease the financial burden that often overwhelms adoptive parents.
We hope that by inviting you into this process, you will see yourself as part of the community we hope to build around our child as he/she grows.
