Love Has No Limits: Our Journey for a Baby
Life is full of ups and downs, breathtakingly beautiful stretches and devastatingly heartbreaking periods, but through it all, our God has a plan and guides us on this journey we call life.
Jacob and Ashley met in middle school. They instantly developed a friendship that bloomed into an incredible relationship. Seven years after they first met, they married and began planning for the future. After a few years of marriage, Jacob and Ashley decided it was time to increase their family by having a child.
After a little more than a year of trying, finally, a baby was on the way. The baby was expected to arrive in February. But…it wasn’t to be. Several months of healing went by before they decided to try again. Months passed with no success. Specialists were called on for advice and assistance, but still no pregnancy. The couple decided to proceed with in vitro fertilization. The next five months were filled with doctors’ appointments, surgeries, medications, and lots of prayer. In October of 2020, their prayers were answered. Ashley was pregnant again! Their hearts were filled with excitement. Within weeks, their dreams were crushed…yet again.
Although their hearts were broken, Ashley and Jacob did not give up. The next several months were filled with more appointments, medications, and more transfers, only to be let down over and over again. Ashley and Jacob spent the next few months seeking God’s path for their journey to become parents. They never gave up on their hopes and dreams. After speaking and consulting with their doctor, the odds seem to be against them.
As devastating as the news was to them, their love and faith that God was with them on this journey supported them. Throughout the last few years, Ashley and Jacob never stopped loving and nourishing other children. They never gave up hope that they would have a child of their own to love and nurture. With each loss, came a tiny, little voice that perhaps adoption was God’s chosen path for them. One morning a few weeks ago, Ashley woke up with the confidence and assurance that their family would begin with a baby who needed them - their love, their bond, their family - as much as they needed the baby.
This is where you - the reader, the gifter, the miracle-maker - come in. Adoption is incredibly expensive; with costs adding up to $40,000 or more.
