Wes & Rachel Kennedy

are adopting a child from Bulgaria

"Is not this the fast that I have chosen? to loose the bands of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed go free, and that ye break every yoke? Is it not to deal thy bread to the hungry, and that thou bring the poor that are cast out to thy house? when thou seest the naked, that thou cover him; and that thou hide not thyself from thine own flesh?" Isaiah 58:6-7

God used this passage of Scripture to begin His work in our hearts to move us toward adoption! God has been so gracious to us in giving us three wonderful biological children. However we know that there is room in our hearts and in our home for more! Because of God's love for us and because of His leading in our lives, we are beginning a journey toward adopting the child God has for us from an Eastern European country.

We've called our fund Lila's Lasting Love in honor of Rachel's grandmother who recently went home to Heaven! Grandma made–and taught us to make–family a priority! As a matter of fact, the last monetary gift grandma ever gave was to our adoption fund. She had been saving a big jar of coins for who knows what. When she heard we were adopting, she wanted us to have those coins. The total amount was $40. We think it is just like God to kick off our fundraising efforts with the gift of a woman who was all about family!

Our goal is to raise $35,000 for our adoption. We know this is a big goal, but we also know our God is bigger! We hope that by inviting you into this process, you will see yourself as part of the community we hope to build around our child as he/she grows up. Thank you for helping us with our step of faith and thank you for impacting the life of the child we look forward to welcoming into our family.
