Hello, I&'m Courtney; thank you for taking the time to hear my story. I&'ve been an expat and a world wanderer and I&'m overjoyed to be building my family through adoption from the People&'s Republic of China. My Home Study is currently complete (and approved) and I&'m only a few small steps away from sending my dossier to China. From there it&'s only a nine month wait for a referral, a few months for travel, and then, before I know it, my family will be bigger by two little feet. The combined adoption fees, travel costs, time off of work to bond, and medical care once home will exceed $40,000. It can be hard to ask for help, but I recognize that sometimes it takes a village to raise a child (or in this case, bring one home).
