Nathan and I had discussed our interest in adoption long before we were even married. It was something he and I both had in our hearts to pursue, we just were unsure of when. As the years have passed, the topic has come up time and time again, and within the last year, we have felt a real tug to begin the process.
When bringing up adoption in the past, we have been asked “why?”. Our response is, “why not?!” There are an estimated 153 million children living as orphans in the world today. In Ephesians 1:5 it says, “In love he predestined us to be adopted as his sons through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will…” We are all adopted as HIS! Nathan and I want to bring another child into our lives and give them a family. A family to be loved by. A family who shares that love because Jesus first loved us. We want to live out the gospel in a very real way.
