We have great news! Colton's birth mother had agreed to allow me to adopt him. He has been with me since 2019. The tragedy of drug addiction, abuse, and neglect caused him to loose his 3 month old baby brother and ripped his life and family as he knew it apart. Although, he still morns for his baby brother and the life that could have been. With lots of love, attention, consistency, and patience Colton has overcome issues from the past. Colton is also blind in one eye but with the help of some wonderful teachers he has an EIP plan in place under the 504 disability act. and has improved his reading and writing skills immensely. He has had to overcome so much in his young life. Colton is a sweetheart and an amazing child. So smart, emotionally intelligent, with a big heart. We are beginning the adoption process which is rather expensive and any contribution will help make our wish to continue providing a stable loving, safe and Permanent home come true.
Thank you to all of the many donors who are making a difference in Colton’s life. With help of the donors from this site as well as private donors we were able to complete the first stage of the adoption process. A Doctor from a wonderful organization called Hope for Families visited our home for the study and evaluation report. He was highly impressed with the bond that Colton and I share along with the emotional and intellectual intelligence that Colton possesses. Colton has blossomed in a safe, stable, and loving environment. We are excited about moving on through the next phases of the adoption process. The next step will include the attorney’s fees to represent us. This will be the most costly part of the adoption. If you are interested in continuing support there are options for monthly payments, matching, and of course we will keep you updated on our progress! Thank you all so very much! ❤️
