Hi,
Before introductions, we would like to say "thank you" for remotely clicking and having the thought of wanting to donate! Our names are Brandon and Ashley Lovvorn and we are located in South Carolina. As we sit here and type a message for you to read about us… We cannot help to share God's calling on our hearts!
[Back story of us]
We both were born and raised in South Carolina, lived in the same area for most of our lives, come from [two great] Godly homes, raised in church, been married for [what will be] five years in September of 2021, have two fur babies, and love serving our awesome God! I, Ashley, work from home for a mortgage auditing company and Brandon works at a dealership in the parts department. We both serve in our church (where Ashley grew up); Brandon is the worship leader (in the process of becoming a Pastor), and I do a lot behind the scenes from helping with our Children's Department, to assisting in planning outreach programs. (I think this cuts a long story into a few quick sentences of greeting about us…)
Back in October of 2020, we went to go on a "Prayer Walk" with a group from our church to an abortion clinic in Charlotte. The goal was to stand in the "trenches," if you will, and to be a light in what can be described as one of the darkest pits in the area. Never have we participated in an event such as this; neither of us knew what to expect.
About a week before going to the abortion clinic, Brandon had a dream of God wanting him to tell a lady that was going to get an abortion that there was another option than to kill that baby - that he was willing to adopt the baby! (Sign #1 from God.) I felt the calling a little different than he… Towards the end of the event, the speaker was going through statistics - "If 1 family in every 3 churches in the US adopted a waiting child, every waiting child in the US would have a forever family." My immediate thought was "WOW!" In my head… that really is not a lot… The latest statistic shows about 384,000 churches in America - in the world- that number goes into the millions. (Sign #2 from God.) At the closing of the prayer, the leader calls for anyone who feels a calling on their heart to step forward and be prayed over. This was the start of our walk and calling to adoption.
At the time, we were in the process of purchasing our first home… We told ourselves that we needed to complete that process, get moved in/settled, and fast in prayer to ensure ourselves that this is exactly what God wanted from us. We knew that after purchasing a home we would then want to begin starting a family… How many know that when you start planning for yourself, God likes to throw you a curveball! (And everyone reading says "Amen!"
So………………………………………
Here is where we find ourselves. Standing boldly and firmly in the presence of our Heavenly Father saying "We welcome Your will and we will completely trust in You and You alone!" We felt this calling as a way to not just say we are "pro-life" but that we are "pro-love!" We are willing to change our entire lives and plans to save the life of an innocent and precious gift from God.
With that said, we are planning to adopt an infant and have already selected an agency to work with. As many are aware, the adoption process is long and costly. Hence, the reasoning for fundraising and setting up a GoFundMe account. We know that with God calling us, He will provide for us. Our thoughts are not immediately towards worrying about the funds; we have faith that God can handle this and any other issue that comes our way.
We [oh-so] greatly appreciate any gift that you feel led to give! (Every little bit counts!)
But aside from funding… We ultimately ask for the outpouring of love and prayers for the both of us throughout this process. Our God is an awesome God! We pray that God opens doors and allows us to be Kingdom Builders throughout this walk.
Below we have a prayer that we would like to say over all that choose to give:
"Dear Heavenly Father,
We come with open hearts and open minds towards Your will! God we thank you! We feel so honored that You are guiding us along this path. Father, we thank You for those that have read our story and chose to walk alongside us in this process. We ask that your blessings pour over each that decide to give. We pray that they truly know and feel your amazing love. May each of us have a goal to be Kingdom Builders!
In Christ Name we pray,
Amen”
