**UPDATE** We have been matched to a beautiful girl with albinism, Jade Phoenix (YuFeng). We are now planning our travel and are still short a considerable amount of funds for the trip. We are investigating loans, but are hoping to complete our family with going into too much debt. Please consider helping out (or helping again!). We will upload pictures on our blog as he make progress! *** Our journey to adoption began when Heidi was very young. She always knew that her family would consist of both biological and adopted children, in fact, it was one of the first questions she asked when marriage talk began. Our adoption plans were put on hold many times - first because of job-related moves and secondly when our beautiful baby boy was diagnosed with Autism. His diagnosis, right about the same time we finally found a steady job, meant that we needed to focus on him for a few years, and that Vic had to stay home with him for a bit longer, further stretching our finances. We have finally reached a stable place, financially, but we have no reserve that will allow us to manage the start-up costs of adoption. We chose China for a number of reasons, most particularly because the plight of China&'s unwanted girls called to us. And with a special needs child already in our home, we are happy to welcome another one!
