Hello from Sean, Kelly, Rowan and Rory.
We are overjoyed to be walking together in this journey to find our baby and little sib to Rowan and Rory. Adoption has been on our hearts as a picture of the Gospel. God has been preparing us in the last 2 years to faithfully pursue this route of domestic adoption and we are very grateful to be on the adventure to find our baby!

4/15/2020 *T-shirt fundraiser is now closed* We surpassed our second goal to raise $950 as we work with a professional Profile Book Consultant. We are blown away, it's almost overwhelming the gratitude we have for all of you. We just began to fund raise for the remaining amount by also selling our Adoption Shirts through Fund the Nations. We were able to complete all of our training online, receive certifications online and complete our home-study visits via FaceTime. Our home-study is almost completed and we are going to be working on our profile book in the next week. THANK YOU for supporting and praying with us through this journey!
- 3/31/2020 We just surpassed our FIRST raising goal of $6,750 and are OVERJOYED. This amount went go toward our application fee ($350), home-study fee ($3,200 + costs to complete the study, i.e. adoption certification classes, $200), and the consulting fee for Mustard Seed Adoption Consultants ($3,000). A typical domestic adoption can range anywhere between $30,000 to $48,000 total depending on extensions and fees differing from state to state. We are HALFWAY through our home-study and have another meeting via FaceTime this week. We are also halfway through our training classes and are soaking in all there is to learn and understand. ECFA has been wonderful and our agent is doing everything she can to keep this process moving even though we have more roadblocks with the Shelter Order. We are currently scheduling photos for our profile and speaking with profile book consultants, as the process of making a profile book/letter to the expectant mother is intricate and must be done with great care. Expectant mothers are shown many, many profile books. We are taking into account the wise counsel of those that have walked this road before us and taking the utmost care in presenting our family, our values, and our love for our future baby. As always, THANK you for your support that endures even the hardest of times.
- 2/15/2020 We have officially started the adoption process through ECFA; scheduling our home-study and beginning to raise funds!
What agency are you using?
- We are working with Evangelical Child and Family Agency in Wheaton, Illinois for our home-study and post-adoption visits.
- We will also be going through Mustard Seed Adoption consultants (main office located in Georgia) to help guide us through interstate adoption + communicating with other reputable agencies. Our profile will be shown to birth-moms across multiple states. Both agencies have wonderful staff that love the Lord and pray with us along the way.
- AmericanKidz Adoptions in Florida is the agency that is facilitating the other side of the adoption. They provide fantastic care for expectant mothers and we are very excited to be working with them.
How long does the process take?
####
- We are done with our Home-study with ECFA, we can now create a profile book with another consultant to be shown to expectant mothers, this process can take 8 weeks. From there, it's completely in the Lord's hands if we are chosen right away or months from now! Mustard Seed has been known to help match families within weeks of being active but it is also typical to wait 9-12 months to be chosen.
PRAYER REQUESTS:
**For the HEALTH + PROTECTION of Mama "P" + baby, and for God to be GLORIFIED***
-For God to comfort the heart of baby's birth-mom and family. We pray that she is supported as much as possible (whether through the agency, family or friends) through this painful and selfless act. We are so grateful to her and hope that we can have an OPEN ADOPTION or SEMI-OPEN plan.
-For the funds to accumulate in God's timing + for us to be PATIENT through the process. Everyone says the waiting is the hardest part!
-For wisdom for us to prepare Rowan and Rory for this amazing journey.
-PRAISE for our agencies and consultants that has continued to work tirelessly for us and so many other families.
Thank you for viewing our page and prayerfully considering to support us.
Gratefully,
The Mabee Family
