As of May 5, 2021 we have been matched! And we are adopting a sweet baby bo** y**!
Due date: July 15, 2021 … Only a few short months away!
We are beyond excited and are doing everything we can to be prepared to welcome a beautiful new life into our home.
Some of you may already know, but if you don’t… we began our journey to adopt in January of 2021, but it actually started long before. Adoption is something we have discussed since before we were married, as it means a great deal to both of us for many reasons. After lots of thought and prayer we finally decided to jump in with both feet. We believe we have been called to adoption and are following through with our faith walk. It is extraordinary to be matched so soon and we realize that this is a blessing beyond measure!
John and I would like to complete our adoption with the help of community, family and friends. The expectant mother that has chosen us will need a lot of support as well, in ways we are not even aware of yet. It truly takes a village to raise a child and we invite you join our village.
As part of our adoption process, we have started a crowdfunding campaign. It may surprise you to hear that adoption related costs reach upwards of $35,000 and more. And in our case, the total will be just over $62,000. While we are also looking into various adoption grant options, we have set a goal of $42,000 to help ease the financial burden that often overwhelms adoptive parents. Though, it is not easy to ask those who we know and do not know to support us in this journey, we trust that through your help and support we will be able to assist this expectant mother with the costs for this adoption; expenses toward her prenatal care, labor and delivery expenses, housing expenses, attorney fees, state fees and travel to meet our new little one that has been chosen for our family.
We hope that by inviting you into this process, you will see yourself as part of the community we hope to build around our sweet baby as he grows up.
