As many of you know, we are in the process of adopting a 9 year old boy named Leo.
We have felt for many years that the direction of our lives were headed toward adoption, but were unsure what that would look like exactly.
The doors were opened wide this summer for us to be a part of Leo's story, and we are grateful for that.
Leo was brought from Latvia 5 years ago, but his family was unable to continue care for him. When the need for a family for Leo was brought to our attention, we felt called to step in. This is considered an independent, private adoption.
This does not come without sacrifice, and many have asked how they can help, specifically financially. We expect the cost to be around $10,000 once all of the fees are included - fees including attorney fees, agency fees, and home study and post placement study fees.
