Hello! Our names are Dominic and Mellisa Martens and we live in Canada. We are high school sweethearts and have been married for just over 10 years. We have a 6-year-old bio daughter who is in kindergarten and 2-year-old twin bio daughters. Dominic is a funeral director and Mellisa is a maternity/paediatric Registered Nurse. People often joke that we bring them into the world and take them out. We love being parents to our 3 girls! Through bringing the twins home, and in the time that followed, we realized that love truly does multiply with every child. Adoption has been a periodic conversation for us over the years. Last year we knew that God was telling us the time was right for our family. At that time we began the exciting process of learning about Bulgaria and the people who live there. It is with great anticipation that we wait to meet our son. We leave for our first of two trips to Bulgaria on January 20, 2017. God has specifically put a burning passion on our hearts for orphans. Our family is full of grace, patience, forgiveness, love, flexibility, and fun. There are so many unknowns, but we do know with complete certainty that this is how our family must grow. Our oldest daughter often prays that we will adopt 10 children. Who knows, but we smile at the adventure and possibility that lays before us and are grateful that God would use our family in this way! Thank you for your support!!!
