Our family's adoption story begins over a dozen years ago when the dream was first planted in our hearts. Becky's childhood experiences helped drive her love of adoption through neighbors and extended family that grew their families and their joy through adoption. When we got married in 2003, we knew we were open to the idea of growing our own family through adoption, but this openness quickly grew to a strong desire after we began sponsoring a little girl from Sierra Leone, Africa. Through her bright eyes and smile, and her optimistic personality, we were absolutely convicted to care for the orphaned and fatherless ourselves. Over the next several years, God deepened our resolve to give an orphan a home and used Russell Moore's book, "Adopted for Life" to particularly strengthen Steve's longing to make this dream a reality. At the time, we were living in a 1-bedroom apartment in the heart of NYC with our baby girl (almost 7 now!) and then we added another daughter (now 3!) to our family a few years later.
It quickly became apparent that we would not be able to responsibly sustain a family with three children if we stayed in Manhattan, so in 2014, we moved to Virginia. Now we have a home with three bedrooms enough for our two girls and the future child that God has for us. Through many twists, turns, and some open and closed doors, we finally felt God leading us to adopt from South Africa. He has been faithful to create a way for our family to bring this child home and we are confident in this calling.
Please join us in praying for our child, for us, for the process, and for God to provide financially for this massive undertaking. We know He can and He will, and we are excited to see Him use you, our friends and family, to walk alongside us on this exciting adventure!
THANK YOU so much for your support!!!
