We have BIG news!
We are adopting a baby!
As some of you know, Patrick and I have tried unsuccessfully to start our family traditionally. The last few years have been very hard and trying on us both. A year and a half ago we looked into adoption, and what it would entail. We were in the early stages of a home addition, and so we had to put it on hold. Recently we re-visited the idea, and decided that we are ready to grow our family. The adoption agency we are using is a small agency, founded by and for families who have suffered with infertility. They are based out of the Chicago, IL area. They connect with birth mothers and adoptive families in 47 states. We are unsure of where our baby will come from but look forward to the adventure that awaits us.
We are beyond excited and are doing everything we can prepare to welcome a beautiful new life into our home. As part of our adoption process, we will have to raise a significant amount of money to cover adoption related expenses. This is why we have set a goal of $35,000 to help ease the financial burden that often overwhelms adoptive parents. We are using AdoptTogether.org which is part the Pure Charity organization (a 501c3, meaning that all of your donations are tax deductible).
We believe that it takes a village to raise a child, and we are hoping that you will be part of that village for our new baby. We are grateful for the outpouring of support, we love you and can’t wait to share this journey with you.
