Hello Friends and Family! We are finally moving forward in our adoption! We started the process of adopting a little girl from India in August of 2008. Fast forward 5 years 6 months and 3 days: We have a referral!!!! It took a really long time, but suddenly we&'re overjoyed and are dusting off all the adoption paperwork and taking a look at the financial part of it all again! We&'ve spent $15,658 so far, and expect to spend close to $20,000 more. We were awarded a $4k grant from Show Hope but won&'t receive it until we&'re closer to travel. We would love your support and help to get this money raised and to bring our daughter home! At this point, we are raising funds for adoption agency fees, international fees/finalization, travel expenses (we don&'t know if we&'ll need to take 1 or 2 required trips to India), and medical expenses. We call our little girl "Mercy." We&'ve pursued her through the special needs track, so we&'ve known that there will be possible medical expenses as part of bringing her into our family. We can&'t share much about her because she&'s not legally ours yet- but we do know that there will likely be surgeries and doctor&'s visits. :) We can say that her 1st birthday is March 15th!
