We have big news!
God's plans y’all…
Last Friday we got a phone call about a little boy who was adopted from China who needs a new family… Would we consider it?
That led to a lot of conversations, thoughts, and prayers. We had previously thought about the possibility of adopting more than one child, but had not made a firm decision plus we're STILL waiting to bring J. home from China.
After thinking through everything, praying through it, and a very directive sermon at church on Sunday… We made a decision and on Monday evening we stepped out in faith and we are now in the process of
TWO ADOPTIONS!
This adoption is a domestic adoption through dissolution which means his first adoptive family will not be keeping him. The situation needs to happen pretty quickly and it will be a private adoption, so that means it will be expensive. We will be applying for grants where we can, but we don’t have time to wait for specific time windows to open so that keeps us from being eligible for many. We will be launching a fundraiser today as well. We have to come up with a lot of money really fast.
Please pray for us in this because the little boy needs to be able to get to his new family as soon as possible. We’re talking a matter of a few weeks to come up with a very large amount of funds. Once we have our home study completely updated from international to domestic, then we will travel to the state that he is in, which is Florida, and we will bring him home. So that is pretty quick. Our biggest obstacle is funding and we are just going to do the best we can to try to make it all happen as quickly as possible.
in this we want everyone to know that we are still 100% committed to our son who is waiting for us in China. J. is already our son in our hearts and we will wait for him as long as it takes. China just has not opened their borders since they closed it due to the pandemic and there is no indication on when that will happen. We ask that you continue to pray for him and for the situation. We hope and pray that China will open their borders soon so that he can come home.
We are excited and a little bit overwhelmed as we step into this very new and unexpected journey. Please pray for us and these two little boys. We can’t wait until they’re both at home together with us!
