We're the Erlers and we are so excited to be adopting a little boy from the Congo! Last summer (2012), both of us felt God calling us to adopt. Through a series of unfolding events, our path began leading to the Democratic Republic of Congo, a country of 5 million orphans! Even before we were married we had talked about adoption and decided that it was something we eventually wanted to pursue. But only two years after being married, we decided that this was how God was calling us to start our family. Our desire to adopt is largely based on God's heart of adoption–the method through which He welcomes each of His children–and His particular concern for the orphan and widow. We are anticipating a very adventurous journey as we continue to move forward in bringing our little one home. We don't know his face yet, but we believe God has someone very special in mind for us. We know that the expenses of adopting this child will be huge, but we know God as a provider, and believe that He often uses the gifts of others to meet our needs.
