SURPRISE!!

Introducing William (Liam) Robert Miezin! Born Wednesday, August 26, 2020 at 6:48am. Coming in at 6lbs 8.6 oz and 19.5 inches long!

On Wednesday afternoon we got the call from our local agency Open Arms Adoptions that baby was born in Columbus, we have been chosen to be his forever parents and we needed to be there before 6pm to meet him! Needless to say, the last few days have been a whirlwind, running on adrenaline and emotions! We are thankful to be home and settling in as a family.

We will be forever grateful to Liam's first momma for being so brave and for her loving sacrifice of choosing adoption. We will continue to pray for her as we know how much emotion comes with the adoption process. We ask that you will also keep her in your prayers.

And to all our family and friends who have supported us, encouraged us and prayed for us on this journey, we thank you so much from the bottom of our hearts! We couldn't have done it without you all!

Also, if you still want to sponsor a puzzle piece for our adoption puzzle fundraiser there are still 204 puzzle pieces to be sponsored! It is $20 a piece and you can sponsor just one or as many as you’d like! When a piece is sponsored, your name will be written on the back of it. Once the puzzle is completed, it will hang in a double sided frame in Liam's room so he can always look back and be reminded of who had a “piece” in helping to bring him home.

To sponsor a puzzle piece you can either donate through our Adopt Together page , Venmo @Maureen-Miezin or Paypal (paypal.me/mmiezin), or if by check you can email me for our home address. Be sure to leave us a note telling us how many pieces and what names you’d like written on them!

We give God all the praise and glory for placing adoption on our hearts and blessing us with this precious gift of life!

With Joyful Hearts,

The Miezin's

8.10.2020: We are still in the process of being presented to expectant families through Mustard Seed Adoption Consultants as well as our local agency Open Arms Adoptions. We are praying for exposure and more opportunities for us to be viewed.

6.12.2020: Joe and I were recently informed that the birth mother we were matched with has decided to choose a family local to her in Florida. As tough as it is to share this news, we want to be completely transparent with our friends and family during our entire adoption journey. While we knew going into adoption that a failed match could be a possibility, it still came as a hurtful shock to us both. As we process the grief of this news, we find comfort in knowing that God has a plan for us, and His plans are always greater than our own. And with that said, we feel God is calling us to continue moving forward with adoption.

We are incredibly grateful to everyone that has come alongside us on this journey and supported us through prayer or donation. We hope that you will continue to keep our family in prayer and entrust us with your donation while we work toward a future match. As of today, we have a total of 277 puzzle pieces sponsored, more than halfway to our goal of 500!! We are overjoyed with the support we have received! With 223 puzzle pieces remaining, we hope to complete our puzzle with family and friends from all over which will then hang in our son or daughter's room so they will always remember who had a 'piece' in helping to bring them home. If you still wish to sponsor a puzzle piece you can donate through our Adopt Together page , Venmo @Maureen-Miezin or Paypal (paypal.me/mmiezin). Be sure to leave us a note telling us how many pieces and what names you’d like written on them! Feel free to pass along our fundraiser

At this time, we are calling on our friends and family to pray for opportunities to be presented that will lead us to a successful match! We thank you for all the encouraging words and support from so many of you. Although this journey has not been easy, we trust that the reward will be far greater.

'But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint' Isaiah 40:31

With humble hearts,

Maureen & Joe

5.2018.20: We have EXCITING news!

We are excited to share the news with you that we are adopting! We have been matched with a birth mother in Florida who is due July 4th with a baby boy!

God placed adoption on our hearts early on in our marriage. We feel he has been preparing us over the last 4 years to faithfully pursue domestic adoption. We are beyond excited and are doing everything we can to be prepared to welcome a beautiful new life into our home.

As we are prayerfully anticipating our trip to Florida in 5 short weeks we have begun to focus on the last of the financial costs needed to bring our son home. It may surprise you to hear that domestic adoption related costs can easily total $35,000 or more depending on extensions and fees differing from state to state. To help us reach this need, we are excited to launch a PUZZLE FUNDRAISER! We created a special 500 piece puzzle and are offering everyone a chance to “sponsor” a piece for $20. You can sponsor just one or as many as you’d like! When a piece is sponsored, your name will be written on the back of it. Once the puzzle is completed, it will hang in a double sided frame in our child's room so he can always look back and be reminded of who had a “piece” in helping to bring him home.

To sponsor a puzzle piece you can either donate through our Adopt Together page , Venmo @Maureen-Miezin or Paypal (paypal.me/mmiezin). Be sure to leave us a note telling us how many pieces and what names you’d like written on them!

Thank you for coming alongside to support our family through these final steps. We are grateful for each of you! We hope that by inviting you into this process, you will see yourself as part of the community we hope to build around our child as he grows up.

We would love for you to pray for us as we continue on this adoption journey!

Prayer Requests:

  • Prayers for Baby's birth mother. We pray that she is comforted and supported as she go through this difficult process. We also pray for both her and Baby's health, delivery, healing, provision and guidance as we navigate the rest of this journey together.

-Prayers that God will enable the process from here on out to go smoothly. With Coronavirus, many things are currently up in the air.

We thank you again for coming alongside us in this journey. We are eagerly awaiting the day we bring our sweet baby home to his forever family! We appreciate all your love and support!

With grateful hearts,
The Miezin's
