On July 4, 2020, at 0340, Chris and Heather received the call that their birthmom was in labor and heading to the hospital! They were out the door, starting their 12 hour drive, within 32 minutes!
Their little firecracker, K., arrived fast and furious at 0733 on July 4th. Chris and Heather arrived to meet her at 5:04pm! They are loving being Mommy and Daddy to their little girl!
Chris and Heather still need to raise the remaining funds to pay for the legal pathway to get Baby K home!ðŸ˜

On June 4, 2020, Chris and Heather received a call from a friend connecting them with a potential birthmom. On June 18, 2020, after the birthmom agreed to work with Adoption Network Law Center (Chris and Heather's adoption organization), the Mitchells received word that their match to that birthmom was OFFICIAL!!! The baby (unknown gender) is due JULY 14TH!!!! THREE WEEKS FROM TODAY!!!

Hi there friends and family! My name is Stacey and these two wonderful people that are pictured above are dear and precious friends to me. I'm so excited and honored to be sharing exciting news with you and asking you to partake in a really amazing venture that this family is starting. Read on to hear their story and then keep coming back for updates!
Those of you who know Chris and Heather Mitchell, you know what kind of people these two are. They love Jesus, they serve people, they laugh and love life, and you can’t be around them long without breaking into laughter. They will give you the shirt off their back and they will use their time, talent, and treasure for the Gospel of Christ.
Almost 20 years ago, God set them out on a journey as husband and wife. During that time, they have grown to love one another and Christ more every day. They also love children and they carry a passion to have children to love and raise. That path has been a very difficult and heart wrenching one for Chris and Heather. Dealing with infertility and miscarriage, their story of parenting is one that is certainly hills and valleys. God has always met them in this struggle but their hearts still have longed to have little feet and little hearts fill their home.
Now they start on their next journey and would like to include you on it … a journey to adoption. More than anything, even kids, Chris and Heather want to showcase Jesus and His love and salvation to the world around them…and what more perfect picture than adoption to show that. They feel that God has led them to a place to adopt a child into their home and are incredibly excited (and slightly terrified!) for this journey! But when God places a call so great on your heart, how can you do anything but listen and obey? And that is exactly what Chris and Heather are doing.
The cost to adopt a child or children is quite substantial. While it is a journey they are excited to embark on, the reality is that it is expensive and will cost around $40-50,000 dollars. You read that right. This is where we as the Mitchell’s family, friends, acquaintances, maybe even strangers can come in and be the hands, feet, and blessings of Jesus. We are given the honor of coming alongside them in this and actively partaking in adoption WITH them. What an honor and a blessing to US to be able to partner with them in this exciting venture!!
So what can you and I do?
Let’s be honest, asking for support is not an easy thing to do. BUT we also know that God uses HIS people for HIS purposes. Chris and Heather would be honored to know that you helped bring their child home and knowing that this baby will have the opportunity of growing up in a Christian home. We are all humbly on our knees before God with the Mitchells, knowing that He will do great things through our faith in Him. Thank you so much for your prayers and your support. We have BIG news!
After dealing with infertility for the past 20 years, we are adopting a child! This has been a long journey the Lord has placed in front of us, but one we are forever grateful was ours. Many of you are very well aware of our journey and have asked how you can help with the cost - knowing adoption costs can easily exceed $40,000. For that, we are both grateful and humbled. Our plan is to write the name of every donor on the back of a puzzle piece, forever there to remind both us and the child God gives of your love, prayers, and investment in their lives. When assembled, the puzzle will be displayed in the child's room, glass on both sides, so we and the child can both look at it and thank God for each of you, and for your investment into our family.
We desire that by inviting you into this process, you will see yourself as part of the community we hope to build around our child as he/she grows up. Thank you for you love, prayers, and investment in our child's life, and in ours.
