Hi, we are Laura and Patrick Mize. Thank you for viewing our profile. We have been married for seven years and together for 13. In May, we welcomed a sweet newborn baby girl into our arms: Cora James! We love her to pieces and life with her the past three months has been better than we could have hoped for. We are still paying hefty legal bills to get us to the ultimate goal: finalization, when Cora will officially be forever ours. We have passed all our home study and post-placement visits with the social worker, and the birth parents' rights have been terminated. We are certain the final hearing in a few months will go well and nothing will derail this adoption, we just need to pay for it all! We appreciate anything you can give toward our goal. Read on to learn more about how we came to choose adoption: Adoption has been on our hearts for a long time - even before we were married - and we are overjoyed to have started our family through adoption. We are thrilled to be raising Cora as part of our family. There's so much we are starting to share with her, including our faith in Christ, our loving extended family, our local church community and friends, our friendly dog, fun trips, and our hobbies of biking, bowling, fishing and cooking. We have already paid some of the adoption costs (on top of our goal of $5,000) and will continue to pay as much as we can out of pocket. Thank you for reading our profile. We appreciate your prayers for our new little family and any financial support you can provide to help us finalize Cora's adoption.
