We have created and grown our family through the miracle of adoption four times. Our children all know how a family can face the challenges of life together and share in the love. Our family truly believes that it is our heavenly Father who knows where we belong. As Adoptive parents we are often told how we did such a great thing, We know however that we have been the ones truly blessed.
We are excited to share the great news that we have been lead to bring home from China another family addition! Over a year ago we noticed a cute 12-year-old with Cerebral Palsy on the special needs wait-list. A special note was included in his bio sharing that "time was running out" for him to find a forever family!!
We shared his story with our oldest daughter to get her thoughts. She challenged us with, "What better family to give him the love and support he will need." We spoke with our other three children and all agreed that we should move forward to bring him home.
The process was then started and during the journey, we were led In other ways that have changed our lives. We opened a private nonprofit school for children with learning differences this past August. This has been a blessing to our community and our own sons who attend this school. It will also be a blessing for James Paul (Fu De Huang) as he has had no formal education and we will be able to provide him with the accommodations necessary to allow him to reach his educational potential.
We worked hard to have financial resources in place for our adoption when we were challenged in a way to really rely on our faith as never before. On October 10th of this year, our community was devastated by Hurricane Micheal. Our community, friends, and family are all faced with incredible challenges. We lost two of our offices, sustained damages to our home and school, and are in the midst of rebuilding all that has been damaged. We have now the additional challenges of providing income for our 20 plus staff members and services for our students. In addition, we were closed for almost a month as we had no power or other services.
We received our travel notice just two days after the storm, giving us the mixed joy of knowing this is God's perfect timing with now the challenges financially.
We are praying for those who are led to join us in obedience to God's call to bring James Paul (Fu De Huang) to his forever family! All funds donated will assist with his adoption costs, as well as his medical and dental needs.
