We have BIG news!
As many of you may or may not know, my husband Ben and I had the privilege of fostering a beautiful baby boy earlier on this year. We quickly grew to love him as we cared for him and got to see him develop in his early months. Although our intent was to foster-and-adopt him, it did not quite work out that way. Another family member of his stepped up after several months of raising him and we had to say goodbye to him one last time as we prayed over him. Seeing him go to his new family was a bittersweet moment, but it just confirmed in us how much we wanted to raise a little one and how we wanted that little one to come into our home.
Therefore, after prayerfully considering it, we have both decided we want to pursue…. Adoption!
We are beyond excited and are doing everything we can to be prepared to welcome a beautiful new life into our home. As part of our adoption process, we have started a crowdfunding campaign. It may come as a surprise to you to hear that domestic, adoption-related costs can range from $24,000 - $40,000. This is why we have set a goal of raising $12,000 to help ease the financial burden that often can feel overwhelming. We have elected to use AdoptTogether & the Hoping Hearts Foundation to reach our goal, because they are a 501(c)(3) organization that accepts tax-deductible contributions.
We hope that by inviting you into this process, you will see yourself as part of the community we hope to build around our child as he/she grows up.
