Surprise! After six years of marriage and countless negative pregnancy tests, the Cramers are finally having a little one! Adopting one that is!
We are officially pursuing the adoption of a child from India! But, it is a pricey venture and we need our village! International adoption costs are rising thanks to recent law changes and at the moment we are looking at roughly $35,000 for our adoption, not including travel expenses, our home study, and medical care. Feel overwhelmed? It’s okay! Think of it this way…
It is roughly 8,003 miles from Baltimore to our child’s home country. That is only $4.37 per mile! So we are hoping that you, your friends, your momma, your momma’s friends, and more will help us out by purchasing a mile. Or twelve! However many you feel so inclined to help us get to our little and bring her home!
Having doubts about crowdfunding or donating? Don’t! This site, unlike others, allows for all of our funds to be used specifically for our adoption. We don’t even touch it- it goes straight from you to our agency. But wait, there’s more! If you donate directly through this site, your donation will be tax deductible! That’s a win-win-win in our book!
Right now, we are currently scrimping and fundraising for our first large round of fees. And, y’all, it’s a doozie! We have had garage sales, sold all 2 of my designer bags, and essentially everything else that isn’t nailed down. But we need your help! So please consider donating and helping us bring our little one home! Whether you can only buy “1 mile” or 50, every little bit helps. And if you can’t spare anything at all, then we will take all the prayers and shares we can get!
International adoption is not black and white. It is grey, very grey. And messy. And gritty. Adoption requires loss and pain. And that is not lost on us. Right now, our child is out there in the world. One of the too many orphans in need of a home and family. So please, please pray for her. Pray she is warm and fed and loved. Pray she is safe and that she can rest easy knowing that we are coming for her. And we won’t stop until she is home. And lastly, pray for us. Pray that through this process we can show His love through that of our own. Pray that we can become more like Him and less like us. Pray that we have the grace and patience and humility to surrender our all and have complete faith in our God.
